Solving the Civic Achievement Gap in De Facto Segregated Schools

Abstract

Effective civic education in those public schools populated by overwhelmingly poor and minority students must take into account their life experiences, readings of history, and interpretations of current events. Without effective civic education, the civic achievement gap is likely to widen.
