Abstract
Previous studies have shown the impact of factors such as teaching methods, curriculum design, and student motivation on student performance. However, the impact of cultural factors on student achievement has been overlooked in the schooling system’s focus on enhancing academic achievement. Previous research investigates the impacts of ethnicity, socio-economic status, and student mobility on students’ quiz performance. Studies have shown that there is a strong correlation between socio-economic status (SES) and educational outcomes, with students from higher SES backgrounds generally demonstrating better test scores and overall academic performance. Additionally, ethnicity has also been shown to affect academic success, with certain groups consistently outperforming others. The design of an experiment to analyze such relationships must consider a group of students from diverse backgrounds with respect to the academic performance as measured by test results or partial course grades. The results may allow educators to make more effective personalized strategies of teaching such as custom curriculum to accommodate diverse learning needs and can foster improved outcomes for those who face challenges.
